Dr. Kaylynn Poyner grew up in Sachse, TX. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology at Indiana University Bloomington (Go Hoosiers!). She then went on to earn her Doctor of Optometry degree from Rosenberg School of Optometry in San Antonio, TX. She gained valuable experience in her unique externship’s settings, including a distinguish rotation at Daytona Beach Veterans Affair hospital, where she administered full scope optometry to veterans. Dr. Poyner has also worked at Neurovision Associates of North Texas in Plano, TX where she gained experience doing vision therapy and working with all sorts of patients from: pediatric, traumatic brain injury, ASD, and elite athletes. Dr. Poyner has also worked at UIW Rosenberg School Optometry Clinics where she managed patients with eye conditions including glaucoma, cataracts, and diabetic eye exams.
Dr. Poyner is a licensed Therapeutic Optometrist and an Optometric Glaucoma Specialist. She enjoys practicing medical optometry, managing dry eyes, pediatrics and fitting all types of contact lenses. Dr. Poyner is well-versed in all areas of primary care of the eyes, including diabetic eye health, urgent eye care, eye infections, and ocular disease treatment and management. She also provides consultation and management for cataracts and refractive surgeries.
Dr. Poyner believes in looking at the big picture when it comes to your eye health and takes the time to get to know you, your eye care history and your vision needs. In addition to caring for her patients, Dr. Poyner likes to unwind in her Fort Worth home with her husband Scott and dog Zoey. In her spare time, she likes to go hiking, travel, try new restaurants, read and is an avid sports fan. Be aware, Dr. Poyner is a die-hard Cowboys fan!
